Room to Heal - Help us rebuild the Glickman Centre
Healing begins in a safe and dignified space.
For women and children escaping violence, a bedroom is more than a place to sleep. It is the first place where fear can ease, privacy is restored, and healing can begin.
Through the Room to Heal campaign, Na’amat Canada is rebuilding 12 bedrooms at the Na’amat Canada Glickman Centre for Family Violence Prevention in Tel Aviv — the first women’s shelter established in Israel.
This is a project Canada helped build. Now, we proudly rebuild it.
Our goal is to raise $140,000 to ensure that every room reflects safety, dignity, and care from the moment a family walks through the door.
We are honoured to announce the
Benny Freedman z”l Match For Hope
Through Holocaust survivor Benny Freedman's Legacy, we have received a generous gift of $70,000 to match every dollar raised toward our $140,000 goal.
The need is urgent.
The impact is immediate.
For more than 30 years the Glickman Centre has provided shelter, counselling, legal support, and rehabilitation programs for women and children experiencing abuse.
The bedrooms are central to this mission.

Kanot Middle School
A building is just walls, until we fill it with opportunity.
At Kanot Youth Village in Israel, hundreds of vulnerable teens find not just a school, but a second chance. Many come from poverty, trauma, or instability. Kanot gives them safety, support, and the tools to succeed.
Now, a brand-new middle school building has been constructed on campus, designed as a “school for the future”. It’s ready… almost.
To open its doors in September 2025, we need your help to furnish and equip this vital space.
Your donation will help provide:
- Desks and chairs
- Science and technology equipment
- Art and music supplies
- Air conditioning, whiteboards, and more

Anita Blanshay
Belonging to Na’amat has had a very large impact on my life. I feel that I am part of a family of women who are concerned about, and involved with, supporting the social issues in Israel and Canada. My family has seen four generations involved at Na’amat and it is a labour of love. My life with Na’amat Canada Montreal has been very rewarding. I have made lifelong friends who share in my love for Israel. Your involvement with Na’amat will be the key to our future.
Brenda Fayerman
I have been a member of Na’amat since I was a young mom. I instantly felt “at home” at Na’amat, feeling part of a cause that I could relate to, in the company of dynamic, intelligent, and committed women. I am thrilled that today my daughter, over 25 years later, is now a member of Na’amat as well. My goal as Co-President is to encourage new membership, for Jewish women of all ages… 20, 30’s, 40’s and beyond! Our strength is our members and friends, and that includes you.

As a relative newcomer to Na’amat I was attracted by its ideals and commitment to advancing the causes of women’s rights and family issues. My story is that we can become a part of Na’amat at any age and at any stage in our lives and have the opportunity to give of ourselves and belong to a meaningful and welcoming organization.
