Events - Purim is coming
Na'amat Vancouver's Hamentashen Packaging and Distribution Day at the JCC. At least twenty volunteers spent the morning getting over 1000 dozen hamentashen ready for pick up during the Purim Carnival. It was a hectic but very productive and successful day for all.
Na'amat Galim Vancouver had their first program of the year starting at a local Olive Oil Specialty shop. We learned a lot of interesting facts about olive oil. We were taught how to taste a range of oils based on the variety of olives and their origins. The shop also had a large selection of balsamic vinegars which we paired with the olive oils. We all left with a few bottles and were all the more savvy about the nutritional value of olive oil and how to look for better quality products. The shop also donated 10% of the evening's sales to Na'amat.
Hamentshen For Purim!
It's time for the Galim Chapter's annual Hamentashen Bake-a-Thon and this year, we are offering five yummy flavours: prune, poppy seed, chocolate, apricot and raspberry. Strictly Kosher (BCK) hamentashen are also available in all the above flavours, except for raspberry.

Proceeds from this sale will be directed to Na'amat social services in Israel. The Galim Chapter will also be donating hamentashen to Vancouver's Jewish Food Bank and other local organizations.

The 2nd Annual Soup Making!
We gathered in a member’s kitchen. In true Jewish Mother and Bubbe style, we cooked together. We divided into 3 groups and each group created a sumptuous soup following a previously chosen recipe. From the finished product, 2 of the soups were divided up and we each took home samples. The third batch was frozen and later devoured at our annual retreat.
