Ottawa's President's Message

We are proud to be the new Ottawa Council co-presidents of Na'amat Canada, an amazing organization that sets the bar high for women's rights and opportunities. And we are driven to help make this caring movement of working women and volunteers more dynamic than ever.

Through important fundraisers—like the Ottawa Jewish Telephone Directory, serving our community for nearly 70 years—Na’amat is able to enhance social justice, freedom and equality in our world. This is done through its top-notch social services for disadvantaged women and children of all religions and ethnicities.

Na’amat Ottawa always welcomes new members. We have two active chapters offering programs that include speakers on popular issues, unique fundraising events, and socializing with other talented women. Come experience for yourself how great it feels to be part of a woman’s group that has the power and influence to improve lives!

In Israel, Na’amat runs the country’s largest network of daycare centres, safe shelters for preventing domestic violence, innovative vocational schools for troubled teens, legal counselling, women’s health centres and more.

Across Canada, Na’amat manages various projects that have been helping women and families in need for more than 90 years. Here in Ottawa, for example, each year we produce a growing number of backpacks filled with school supplies for children in local women’s shelters.

That’s why our passionate members and generous supporters are so important. Together, we help make these projects and services possible. In return, Na’amat lets us connect with new friends, fun social activities, and, of course, meaningful volunteer work that makes a positive difference for women and families.

Let’s connect,
