What We Do In Canada
Founded in 1925, Na'amat Canada is a registered Canadian charity with branches in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec. The name "Na'amat" is a Hebrew acronym for Nashim Ovdot Umitnadvot (Movement of Working Women and Volunteers.) Our volunteer members of all ages are instrumental in fundraising to support social service programmes in Israel and in Canada.
In Israel, Na’amat Canada supports daycares, vocational high schools, a domestic violence shelter and counselling centre, legal aid bureaus, women’s rights centres, scholarship funds, as well as other facilities and services. Our members also take part in local Canadian social service projects that mirror the work we support in Israel.
